How a custom song gift works
About 10 minutes of your time. You tell us about them, and we write and make their song.
Tell us about them
We ask one question at a time: who the song is for and the occasion first, then the things only you know. A story about them, a habit, the thing they always say.
From the third question on, we suggest answers based on what you’ve told us, and you can always use your own words. It takes about 10 minutes.
Check your song plan
Your answers become a song plan: a working title, what the song is about, what each verse and the chorus will say, and how it should sound. You can change any part of it before you order.
Choose when you need it
Standard arrives within 48 hours for $39. Express arrives within 12 hours for $69. If you told us the date of the occasion, checkout shows which one gets there in time.
Read the lyrics first (Standard)
With Standard, you get the lyrics before the song is made. You have 12 hours to approve them, change lines yourself or ask us for changes, for up to two rounds. Express skips this step so we can start right away.
We make the song
We make the song from the lyrics and the sound in your plan, and give it its own cover art. A person listens to every song before it goes out and checks that the names are sung right.
Send it to them
We email you a link to the song page, with the song, the lyrics, the cover art and an MP3 to download. You also get a gift link: it opens on a cassette with their name and one Play button, and when the song ends it shows who it’s from and your note.
If something isn’t right, one revision is included, and the new version arrives within 48 hours.
